Bleasdale Mulberry Tree Cabernet Sauvignon

Red Wine
|
2018

Bleasdale's flagship wine is named for the mulberry trees that grow along the River Bremer a tributary runs through the vineyards. The winemaking team’s philosophy at Bleasdale is to allow the region to express naturally what it produces. Their resulting wines are powerful, without being overwhelming, Case in point: Mulberry Tree Cabernet displays elegance and captivating depth of flavour. A badge of excellence for this philosophy came when Senior Winemaker, Paul Hotker was named James Halliday's Winemaker of the Year for 2018.

Toronto Star wine critic Carolyn Evans Hammond wrote in November 20, 2020 “I'd like to give a glass of this wine to every Cabernet lover I know. This wine starts with a riveting ripe berry perfume that calls to mind muddled mixed berries, cassis and a touch of licorice. Then it cloaks the palate with cashmere folds of fruit that open with sweet cherry purée, then shifts toward toasted pastry, blackberry and slate that lingers with a touch of finely grained grip on the finish. A total steak-frites wine. Score - 94.
