Bleasdale Mulberry Tree Cabernet Sauvignon
Red Wine
|
2019
Bleasdale's flagship wine is named for the mulberry trees that grow along the River Bremer a tributary runs through the vineyards. The winemaking team’s philosophy at Bleasdale is to allow the region to express naturally what it produces. Their resulting wines are powerful, without being overwhelming, Case in point: Mulberry Tree Cabernet displays elegance and captivating depth of flavour. A badge of excellence for this philosophy came when Senior Winemaker, Paul Hotker was named James Halliday's Winemaker of the Year for 2018. The 2019 vintage of Mulberry Tree is rated 95 points by Halliday and one of the 100 best wines of 2021.
This is an elegant Cabernet Sauvignon with intense aromas of mixed berries, woody herbs dark chocolate and violets. The palate is smooth and persistent, with blackcurrant and spicy oak flavours, before finishing with soft and subtle tannins.
